Taken over Cancún and the Yucatán peninsula
Most likely, I will make a full post at the end of the trip, but here’s just a bit of car-related stuff. First off - the streets of Honduras are a metaphorical jungle. Stop signs are merely suggestions and motorists routinely cross the centerline of the street. I’m not sure people here know that blinkers exist because they pretty much exclusively use their horns to signal anything they are doing. The income disparity here manifests itself in the cars people drive. As soon as I walked out of the airport, I saw an orange Cayenne hybrid parked next to a beaten-up Hyundai Picanto (sub-subcompact). Today I saw a heavily armored Suburban behind a beaten up Datsun 720 truck, as well as a 2012-15 model Raptor parked next to a 90s Hilux. However, as with most places, they have so many cool cars that we don’t have in the states. Seriously, don’t even get me started on the 70-series Land Cruisers. The Prados are quite cool as well (I saw a super sweet base model two-door in black). And that’s not even mentioning all the French cars, midsize trucks, and old cars. Sorry for the lack of pictures but I had none that were car-related.
